Hoosier Heartland RC & D is excited to serve as the fiscal sponsor for a new fundraising effort led by Millersville at Fall Creek Valley, Inc. to support the Millersville Gateway Median Gardens Revitalization Project.
About fifteen years ago, neighbors teamed up with the City of Indianapolis, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, and Holeman Landscape to turn cracked, weed-filled concrete medians into two beautiful Gateway Gardens at busy Millersville Village intersections—56th Street & Kessler/Emerson Way and Emerson Way & Fall Creek Parkway North Drive. Ever since, dedicated volunteers have been out there caring for these gardens and showing everyone who passes by that this community truly cares.
As you might imagine, traffic medians are tough places for plants to thrive. After fifteen years, these gardens need more than volunteer muscle alone to stay healthy and vibrant. That’s why the team has partnered again with the original landscape architect from Holeman Landscape to plan a refreshed design and full makeover in 2026.

This project is completely volunteer-led and 100% funded by community support—so we need your help to make it happen! All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law and will be restricted for the Millersville Gateway Median Gardens Revitalization Project.
If you love seeing these gardens brighten the neighborhood, consider donating today and helping keep them beautiful for years to come.
